Women's black, ankle length long-sleeved dress consisting of a separate bodice (2013.80.1 A) and skirt (2013.80.1 B). Neckline appears to have been replaced with solid black rayon chiffon with scarf tie stand up neckline. Bodice lined in green cotton and boned. Dress made from black jacquard woven silk satin material. Skirt lined with black polished cotton and hem edged with black courderoy tape.
The dress originally belonging to Annie Rees who was a very early Salvationist with ministry to the orphans in the streets of London. She was called "The Welsh Nightingale".
