Description Ceramic plate, rectangular shaped with rounded corners. The front of the plate features a blue, eggshell white and light red image of man holding The Salvation Army Red Shield logo next to a young child. Front also features text: "The 23rd Annual Dick Purtan Radiothon Benefiting the Bed & Bread Club" (Detroit, MI). The back of the plate bears the text: "1043 WOMC Detroit's Greatest Hits. Thank you for supporting the 23rd Annual DickPurtan Radiothon to benefit the Bed & Bread Club" and a copy of Dick Purtan's signature

The annual radiothon, held by 104.3 WOMC radio, is the largest source of income for The Salvation Army Bed & Bread Program, which delivers meals and provides shelter to metro Detroit's most depressed areas. This plate commemorates the February 26, 2010 radiothon which raised $2,339,440 for the program. The artwork printed on the plate was designed by Jose Sulaica, a student at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI.
